Green: 5 ways to reuse newspaper
Do your daily newspapers pile up? Ours do. We pay for our daily newspaper, which uses a lot of trees, then we just throw it away. It just seems like a waste.
Here are 5 ways to reuse your newspaper:
Crumpled newspaper makes mirrors and glass shine! We don't know why, it just does. It takes less glass cleaner since newspaper isn't as absorbent as paper towels. Spray the surface with your favorite glass cleaner and use the crumpled newspaper instead of paper towels.
Instead of Styrofoam: Run the newspaper through a shredder or crumple it up to use as packing material.
Protect fragile dishware: Place folded pieces of newspaper between china and other breakable dishes and bowls to protect them. Roll cups and glasses in newspaper before putting in storage container.
Newspaper vs lighter fluid for barbecues: Place crumpled up newspaper under the briquettes instead of using lighter fluid.
Makes great casual tablecloths: Interesting conversational pieces for the dinner table, encourages kids interest in reading the newspaper, makes for good parent/child conversations.
