Goodbye snow, Hello mud! Is spring finally here?
We sure hope so!! It's been a very long winter. Warm weather with no snow is greatly appreciated! The housing market is picking up at a steady pace. Lots of new listings for buyers.
This time of year is rather wet and muddy. If you have your house for sale, or are thinking of selling, here are some things to consider:
Snow has melted - pick up debri from the yard.
Sweep and clean the sidewalk and steps/deck going up to the door to get rid of debri, water or mud.
Plant some already in bloom flowers near the entrance and/or the front of the home.
Curb appeal is very important - when you are leaving or coming home, observe the exterior and try to look at it from a buyers eye. Does anything need to be repaired or cleaned?
Clean the doors and windows inside and out. The entry is the first impression - give the buyers a feeling of cleanliness before they enter.
- Be sure to have an outdoor mat at your door.
Have a nice looking rug on the floor inside for people to wipe their feet on or leave their shoes on while they look.
Put a vase of fresh flowers on the table, and maybe a smaller one in the bathroom or master bedroom?
During the winter we bring out the afgans and blankets to keep us warm and sometimes puzzle books - this is a good time to put those away.
If you have a fireplace that was used, clean it.
Put all winter decor away.
Do any of the floors need to be cleaned?
Wishing you success in the sale of your house!
